My dude (1 year in a week- sob!) had a cold about 2 1/2 weeks ago, that lasted about 2 days. Since then he has had a cough that has gotten worse each day. It's a really wet, mucousy cough and it's much worse at night. He doesn't have a fever and is acting normal.
Since the cough has been around and getting worse for so long, I actually took him to the doctor today - The doctor basically said "his lungs sound fine, his ears look fine, but oh, here's an antibiotic for you..." Uh... I'm not opposed to antibiotics when they are needed, but it seemed like she was just tossing it at me because she didn't find anything wrong.
What do you think? I wasn't going to fill it just yet... Is that an awful plan? I don't know what an antiobotic would do at this point, especially since she couldn't find anything wrong to begin with... But if I don't drug him, is there anything else I can do for him? Poor dude is all *coughcoughcough*
