Feeling scared-- what is going on here?!!!
As I've posted before, my daughter started waking frequently with painful gas about 3 months ago, the same week that I had an intestinal bug. It hasn't ever stopped. The GI specialist blew me off, saying, "Gas is normal." My ped agrees that this is NOT normal and is consulting with other GI people, but so far we don't have any answers or even a next step. Now, on top of that, Abigail has been vomiting and was up ALL night last night doing an awful, straining, grunting cry. She seems to be swallowing hard, almost gulping, but not when she's nursing. She also keeps holding her breath and then kind of gasping. No fever, appetite is okay. Has anybody dealt with anything like this? I'm getting scared, and my baby hurts!!!!

Oh, Rachel, I'm so sorry! Have you explored the possibility of reflux? Thinking of you both! :hug

I see you are from the Boston area..My DD has colitis and when she was younger saw a great pediatric gastroentologist affiliated with University Hospital. Ask your ped. for a referral..they are awsome there.
Hope things get better soon!!
