May I ask what insurance you have and if
you have/had trouble getting Enbrel covered? Our current insurance gave me NO trouble at all. I get 3 months worth for $80. COmpany is contemplating changing insurers so I need to discuss this with my boss. Thanks so much!

I am on Medicare but have TriCare for Life--for meds--through the military. We had a $9.00 co-pay.
They approved Enbrel for as long as I need it. I can't even use it anymore.

OOPS! I should have said that was for just 4 injections! :) :)

I first had New Jersey Blue cross and Blue shied and my rhemy RX me Enbrel and didn't have any issue on getting it. it was $25 for a month of shots. When I got a new job they offer Oxford and I got a little issue on getting it. First they would like me to try other treatments first (by other I think they mean cheaper) and they deny my enbrel. I had to call my old derm with all my history and different treatments I had in the past. When I call again after everything was faxed. They told me they will only prescribe enbrel if I am cover in more than 50%. I FLIPPED OUT! cause I was without insurance from 07/04 to 11/04 and my P came back so fast it was amazing! Finally I got my derm and rhemy working together and oxford finally gave in.

I have Blue Cross "Personal Choice" and I have had no problems - I got both Enbrel and Humira approved. I have no co-pay because it is covered in the major medical coverage part of things rather than the prescription plan. (Due to it being injectable, apparently that is the rationale for this).
I get it from a pharmacy in Florida called Curascript. Everything is arranged by the doctor's office/insurance company (?). The pharmacy called me up to arrange my first delivery, and they call every third week to arrange the refills by Fed Ex. They are great to deal with.
I'm so sorry that so many of you have had problems. I realize how lucky I am to have such great insurance coverage.
If PC is available in your area, you should definitely look into it. It was the more expensive (though not by much) alternative offered at my job, but the benefits were much better (irrespective of PA, even).
