For uninsured and underinsured (same as other board)
I recently stumbled across this site: www.patientadvocate.org
This site helps individuals with chronic health conditions with assistance programs for medical needs and personal emergencies. I sent them an email, and I am registering for their services.
They have also informed me of several other programs to help uninsured or underinsured individuals with chronic health problems.
First, there is www.uneedpsi.org
This organization helps individuals PAY health insurance premiums (including COBRA and high risk pool plans). They will also help pay copayments.

Whenever I refer people to this thread, I always make it a point to mention that we don't know very much about Patient Services Incorporated (PSI) (http://www.uneedpsi.org/) but that it couldn't hurt to check them out. There's an article in today's (12/01/2005) Wall Street Journal that, among other things, discusses the high costs of drugs. The article mentions that PSI picked up $3,800 in drug co-payments for a woman who was being treated for a brain tumor. Unfortunately, I can't post a link because the Wall Street Journal's online edition is available only by paid subscription.
I hope this helps.

I understand that they've been running Public Service Announcements in the Boston area for the Partnership for Prescription Assistance ( https://www.pparx.org/Intro.php). Even though it's been mentioned here before, I figured that it never hurts to give this thread a "bump".

Leslie and I both discuss a program called Patient Services Incorporated or PSI (http://www.uneedpsi.org/). Unfortunately, on 02-08-2006 Tani (tmartha) posted that PSI had exhaused their budget for psoriasis. :( (Here's a link to her post: .) That being said, it still can't hurt to check them out.
