I got my disability!
I will receiving benefits in August and am already getting Medicare this month. I don't know much about medicare but hopefully it will do something to help me out. I will get my first check of $600 while I am in Oregon. Which is a relief cause I didn't know where I would get the money to buy stuff with. Those that are still ttrying to get on disability....all I can say is good luck and be patient. It took me over 18 months to get a hearing.
Good luck to you all and I will see you guys in Portland!

How did you manage to be declared on disability? On what premise?

Answers:
such as Bipolar II, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and so on but the one thing that got the judge was I had PA. He even wrote that in the finding verdict. So there is help out there, you just need to find the right lawyer.

I'm not a dr. but more than likely yes. If you haven't seen a rhuemy, you might want to get checked out. It's not something you want to let go.

Kit,
No one here is a doctor and can tell you with any certainty that you have PA only a qualified rheumatologist can do this. However if you even suspect you have PA then you should get to the rheum asap for a dx. That said, it sure sounds like it could be.
Hope it's not. It can be one crappy disease if it's severe. Hell, it can be one crappy disease if it's not.
Polly, sorry lol...I think we were typing at the same time.
Deb, congrats on your disability, see you in Portland.
Karen
p.s. Kit you should think about coming if you're not already registered...

Hi Deb,
I am so glad for you.
Haven't been here much but your story is encouraging to all.
I have a dd with bipolar/manic depression and my ds has GAD.
Just had an app't yesterday with my specialist.
He did a biopsy to rule out skin cancer.
It came back negative, thank God.
I have now a new spot of psoriasis.
Hurray! lol lmao
My feet, face, elbow, and groin area.
Not to mention the osteoarthritis, psoriatic arthritis and asthma but life goes on.
Just wanted to congrats on getting it.
Hope is the Key!
