Any mamas need a fitness buddy?
Hey mamas!
Anyone looking for a buddy to help reach your fitness and health goals? :shy
I need to lose 30-40 pounds and would like to overhaul my entire diet as well. Problem is, I just can't seem to do it on my own.... I'm so busy with DC (8 months) and having to work full time - plus, it's so dark and cold around here and I just feel completely down about my appearance. :( Having someone to talk to and share motivational tips, exercise ideas, meal ideas and such would be terrific and so much more motivating!
Please let me know if anyone is interested!

way to go lookin' for support! we all need it. what kind of exercise are you doing?
need to know, where in the steel city are you? Raised just north of Pittsburgh myself. Now I'm in Indiana, but always have a place in my heart for PA!! :) (even though the Steelers are having a really rough time this year :( )

Actually, I'm currently not doing any exercises at all (unless you count my morning walk to the bus - which is maybe a quarter mile).... :o
Have been thinking about trying to walk for 30 minutes at lunch or doing the stairs here in my building (8 floors) and then maybe trying to do a short video when I get home (though I do need some suggestions on good, short, fun videos).
I actually live in the city - in the neighborhood of Carrick. Not orginally from the Burgh (grew up near State College, PA) but ended up here some 6 or 7 years ago now. DH grew up north of here, up near Titusville. Where were you raised?
Don't know that I'll be here forever (winters have become more and more of a challenge for me lately - need somewhere a little warmer and sunnier), but it's a great little city for now! (But you're right - oh, our poor Steelers... :( ).

I grew up almost an hour north of the city in Hampton and then moved to Valencia (near Butler) going to high school in Mars, PA. I know what you mean about winters!! brrrr!
the reason I asked what your work outs were, is that I'm in the running thread a lot and the mamas there are a wonderful source of support and inspiration. There is a couch to 5K (3.1 miles) program that is maybe three months long? I can't remember. I know several mamas on the runnign thread started out with that (and I know of a couple in person that did it together and liked it). If you have any interest in running, visit the thread.
I would say your walking counts (walk fast). Videos that I like are the FIRM videos. they are usually an hour, but you dont' have to do all of it at once. They gaurentee results in 10 times or your money back adn I have always noticed results. OTher good ones are pilates and yoga (you can find 10-20 minute videos for both).
Check some out from your library first to see what you like before you buy if you want.
good luck!
Lisa :)

I'm in Pittsburgh (Bloomfield) and I'm going to try to start exercising as much as I can with a still-healing broken right foot. I'd be willing to at least maybe PM each other and have some shared goals. Send me a PM if you're interested!
And oh, yeah, the Steelers are breaking my heart.
