I dream of cheese
I've only been on the elimination diet for about 2 weeks, but I dream nightly of cheese pizza. Seriously, I want cheese so bad. There is a lovely pepper jack in the fridge leftover from Christmas calling me.
Please tell me that it'll get easier and I won't crave the cheese soon.

Yeah, he did better, but I think he's allergic to tomatos, so now I'm eliminating that from my diet (no more ketchup!) so hopefully he'll improve even more.

One of the things I did that helped was to write a long list of all the foods I could eat, plan menus (many of which I never made) and just generally focused on the positive.
I live in Japan and when I first got here whenever I got together with other Americans or Canadians, Brits etc... we would always end up talking about the foods we missed/wanted to eat. It was fun.... but not all that productive. I did improve my cooking skills to try and replicate certain items.
Anyway, I have been here for over a decade and many of those early cravings have totally gone, forgotten.
It does get easier, but get rid of the tempting foods to make your life simpler.
Not having somethign in the house makes it much easier not to give/cave in.
Hang in there!!

I dream of peanuts. I miss them so much. Sunflower butter worked as an okay replacement for pb for awhile, but not anymore :( Allergies suck.

I've been milk free for almost a year now. It does get easier. Though I still get some pretty bad cravings sometimes.

It didn't work for me right away when I was eliminating all top 8, but once I could add in soy, (and corn and wheat) I tried the mozzarella style Follow Your Heart brand cheese, and with other tasty and SALTY ingredients on a pizza it worked to add that cheesy texture (though not quite the full-on cheesy taste). It will melt and brown if you put it under the broiler, and while it wouldn't food anyone, it staves off some of the cravings for me.

DS is allergic to dairy and oats, and my fave cookies are milk choco chip oatmeal. a well-meaning and uninformed friend brought over a batch yesterday morning. my will power caved in by 8 pm.
three cookies = one night of 45 minute sleeping increments punctuated by screaming and pooping and snotting.
needless to say, my will power has been renewed.:o

I went dairy, gluten, and sugar free when DD was 4-1/2 months old. Just in the last few months I've been able to scale back to being just dairy and wheat free. I miss cheese more than anything else! DD is 10 months old now and I keep hoping that she'll be able to tolerate goat's milk products so I can at least have some goat cheese. I bought some last weekend but am too scared to try it. I really don't want be up with her screaming and in pain all night for nights on end. Been there, done that! :dizzy: I was researching trying to find a local source for raw goat's milk since I hear sometimes babes do better tolerating raw. I found a farm near the in-laws that does raw goat milk/cheese and raw cow milk/cheese. Their specialty is artisan cheeses. They're having an open house/tasting later this month and I sooooo wish I could eat to my little heart's content. They make a mozzerella from a combo of water buffalo and yak milk. You know you're desperate when you dream of yak cheese! :lol
