I have several food intolerances (dairy, beef, pork, corn, chocolate, fruits with pits are the big ones). I found these years ago (16 years ago) by doing an elimination diet. I also suffer from candida, so I limit my sugar and yeast intake as well. Usually, as long as I avoid my trouble foods, I feel pretty well. I have been struggling this year though. In the spring, it didn't matter how careful I was with my diet, I still had the gastro-intestinal symptoms and fatigue for several weeks. It has started again in the last few days. I am certain that environmental allergens are triggering my symptoms. In the fall, I do get slightly itchy eyes and nose - never severe enough to warrant allergy medications.
So, can the environmental allergens cause gastro symptoms? What can I try to get some relief? I have not tried the over-the-counter allergy medications as they seem to focus on the nasal symptoms, which I don't really have. Could they give me some relief though? I'd rather find a more natural solution.
Thanks for any info!
