what do you give your dc for breakfest?
Well, it has been a busy week for us since Elle has completly refused any type of "baby food" ;) She is now eating pieces of chicken and hamburger along with diced peachs and diced green beans and safe sourdough bread. I have been putting olive oil on her bread and chicken since she needs it to gain weight. She LOVES all of her "big girl" foods :LOL So anyway, I don't want her to get bored with these new safe foods. So I want to feed her something other than meat for breakfest so that she gets a good variety. I am thinking about testing eggs tomorrow since she has never reacted to them when I eat them. I am going to hard boil a few and give her some for breakfest (I'm really nervous about it though). But I was hoping for a few other suggestions too ;)
Thanks,
Amy :slinggirl
Elle is allergic to: Dairy, Soy, excess amounts of Wheat, Whole Corn, Carrots and Pineapple.

Egg yoks are least allergenic. AJ usually eats a banana for breakfast and maybe some infant cereal w/ juice or a poptart. He's dairy/soy free. He also loves bread, snack toast is always a favorite.

Answers:
organic oats w/ blackstrap molasses, chicken sausage from Trader Joe's
I don't mean to be negative, but my dd is 2 1/2 and never reacted to eggs through my BM. When I had her RAST tested at age 2, eggs came up a 3 or high level. I have since taken them out of my diet. Try getting some allergy cookbooks or check out allergygrocer.com or ms.robens.

We like quinoa with honey or molasses. Oats can be contaminated with wheat/gluten if from the US. We also do a lot of gluten free/dairy free pancakes. With Ener-G egg replacer, they can be egg free. I also make banana muffins, blueberry muffins. Oh, you can get frozen organic blueberries that are so good plain or in stuff. Pleasant HIll Farms is the brand, I think. We also use Amaranth and cream of rice for breakfast but quinoa or quinoa flakes are the favorite, after pancakes.

My nephew never reacted to eggs thru my sister's milk. He went into anaphylactic shock the first time she gave him something w/ egg in it at over a year old. If your child has other food allergies, I would STRONGLY recommend giving eggs or anything else that commonly causes an anaphylactic type reaction at the hospital or at your allergist's office. Really.
My kids eat whole grain cereal with soy or rice milk on it for breakfast most of the time. Sometimes I make pancakes. More often I make oatmeal, which they love. Neither of them has any severe allergies. I'm the one w/ the bad allergies. LOL!
