Diet and BFing????
I am thinking of doing a semi low carb diet, not low carb- but cutting out sugar and white flower and processed foods- going more natural foods and such. I guess in doing that I would infact cut my carb intake very low. So my question is what will happend because I EBF? Everything I read says not to cut carbs out of your diet if you are pregnant or BFing- that doesnt vibe right with me- because 1) it seems wrong to eat foods for you that are not healthy 2) I will be BFing for at least another 2 years (dd is 4 months old), not to mention if I get pregnant again I could not start a better life style for what 5 years or more :irked:
I am sure there are people who have gone veggie or vegan when they are BFing- right??? And this doesnt support high carb life styles.
Help- Ideas and support? Will I hurt my baby?

I went to the exact type of diet you are describing when my DS was about 1 year old. He's 3-1/2 now and slowly self-weaning. I did the diet at the advice of my naturopath and never restricted to less than 50 g. of carbs daily (mostly more than that).
I am happy to report that I have lost 30 lb, feel absolutely wonderful, and have started seriously exercising for the first time in my life. No milk supply issues have occurred for me whatsoever, and I have plenty of energy for long-distance cycling, even without all the carb loading that most cyclists do. My high-needs son would have definitely commented if something was "different" about my milk, but all is well.

Crayon, any particular name for the plan that you are on? I am doing a similar way of eating and I love how it makes me feel. I am however having a little trouble loosing, but if I could just stay away from the sugar I am sure that it would help out !!!
