Anyone use myfooddiary.com?
I just signed up!! It is $9 per month and you can cancel at any time. I am hoping that I will be able to lose my last 20 pounds. The site is really great and it takes all the guesswork out of calorie counting. I am really excited can you tell?

i just signed up after my sister (who is a nurse) reccomended it. it is 9$ a month, but i figure that will help me keep up with it and keep accountable.
its VERY interesting seeing foods broken down into fats and calories and carbs and vitimins and sugars, sodium, ect
some things i never would have though contain sodium for instance.
today is my first day and im just trying to figure ut how it works, but im really liking it.
i want to get fit and be more healthy and i think that this is a great way to do it.
it has lots of components, like fitness and how many calories/exercise you need to maintain or lose weight.. it talks about weight/health goals and tells you after you add the food that you have eaten whether it fits into a healthy percentage of nutrients. it takes into consideration if you are nursing or pregnant! and you can add any food that you eat or there is a huge list of things as well. its super interesting.
im excited about it and i would live to find someone else to chat with it about!
for me, im in the house a lot.. around kids who dont eat there food and a put things in my mouth without even thinking about it. i feel like now i wil know exactly what im eating and i will think about everything i eat and drink because im writing it down!

I'm a sparkpeople fan... although I had to lie and say I was not nursing. The site redirects to babyfit which has very little info for nursing mamas. I added 500 calories to what sparkpeople said I should be eating. Hope it works...

I've used fitday and sparkpeople, and I have to say that I think the $9/month is worth it for myfooddiary. I think it's easier to navigate and that its food database is bigger. I used it all through my pregnancy to calculate my carb intake because I had gestational diabetes. It was invaluable, and dd ended up being a little under 7 lbs. when she was born, which was great for a gd baby. Not doing such a great job using it now though...but when I do use it, I always lose weight.

I'm a sporadic user of fitday. I went on once recently to figure out three things:
1) How many calories I consume when I'm on one of my kooky diets.
2) How many calories I consume when I'm on an endless graze-binge.
3) How many calories I consume when I eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full... i.e. when I eat like a "normal person", or intuitively...
It was very helpful, but I haven't been back since because I don't want to get caught up in thinking too much about food, and for me going to some website everyday just to catalog what I eat feels like it's too much emphasis on "what" I eat, when why, when, how, and with whom seem to be equally as important, if not even more important, to my physical and mental health.
JMHO :wink
