How can I tell if dd has a yeast infection?
My dd is 6 and I think she might have a yeast infection. How can I tell? I've never had one before so I can't be positive.

This offers a great picture, and it helped me "diagnose" my dd's first yeast infection. One thing that is great for providing relief with or without a yeast infection (and helps to heal a yeast infection faster) is browned flour. You just take some regular white flour and put it in a skillett over warm heat and stir until it is an even brown color. I keep an old baby powder bottle full of the stuff JIC!! Usually if I see that dd is a bit irritated I will sprinkle a little on before bed and she is all better by morning!

Start giving her probiotics now. Even if it turns out that she doesn't have a yeast infection, it is good for her no matter what.
Why would a 6 yr. old have a yeast infection?
Too much sugar? Too much white flour? Too much pop? Those are all things that should be avoided and a 6 yr. old should NEVER have a yeast infection.

I know! That's what I don't understand. She is not allowed to have soda, rarely sugar (though my parents did go a little overboard with her around her birthday). We rarely have sugary stuff around the house. I usually make stuff out of our sugar-free/vegan cookbook. And we don't eat white bread and usually cook w/whole wheat.
