How to give a baby & toddler vit A
I think dd#3 has german measles. She's only 8 1/2 months old & is bearing up pretty well. Generally quite cheerful & only a touch whingey. She is teething quite badly as well so that is not helping. dd#2 is 3 & she has no signs of anything wrong yet other than general malaise, very bad behaviour & lack of appetite. I've been dosing them up with vit C & probiotics. dd#3 is not on solids yet. I have read that measles of any kind is treatable with vit A. I have no idea how to give it to them tho'. I have some fish oil capsules I have been taking lots of & dd#2 has been eating them. She actually pops the capsules & eats them :eek Is there any better ways of giving kids vit A?
Also anyone know the contagious phase of measles type illnesses. I know chicken pox is contagious before you get spots but someone told me the measles were contagious whilst you have the rash. Thankfully we haven't seen any pregnant women at all for at least 3 weeks.

...in Cod liver oil.
One gelcap is 1000 mg.
2664 IU Vit. A
200 IU Vit. D
110 mg. EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid)
100 mg. DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid)

We pop the gelcap into a tsp. and he takes it.
I can't remember how much we gave him when he had measles (rubeola), but now we only give it, perhaps once every two weeks (sometimes when he seems slightly "under the weather") as he is still breastfeeding and gets some from my wife (she supplements as well, though not regularly)
According to my "Merck Manual" Rubella is contagious one week before the rash to one week after the rash.

Good luck,
