P on SCALP or not?
Well i have this problem with the scalp too for like 2 years now. I need some answers if anyone can help. Since last year its been a great nightmare for me, cuz i thought i was getting bald, im losing hair but not thinned hair, i have much less hair than normal in the areas where i think i have P(i have very few thinned hair coming off but i think its cause im examining every single hair that comes with great assiduity). I tried to find the exact information i was looking for but maybe cause im new to this place i couldnt find it. I have vaguely red scalp on the areas that i think its Psoriasis and i feel itchy but rarely. I have lost and still losing great amount of hair where i have it. Im having insisting lesions but few(i have these lesions in the exactly same place for more than a year maybe) , though never falling scales. Now these all point out that i have mild Plaque P but scale part. I'll soon go to dermatologist after 2 years of my long restless sleep but can someone help me about my diagnosis :p Umm and if you think i have P, can i get my hair back after treatment. I need ppl's experience, Thx very much

...but I have not a clue...
It is not totally impossible that you have solely P in the scalp so bad that it is causing hair loss, but I would not bet heavily on it.
I am afraid you need to bite the bullet and let the dermo diagnose it for you.
Good luck with the dermy and let us know how you do.

Hi Noxivs,
Z is right, you need to get a diagnosis from a good derm. Only then will you know what you are dealing with.
I can tell you from personal experience that alopecia ( hair loss ) is often a part of scalp p. I can also tell you from the same experiences that it can grow back with its former vigor when the p is under control.
There are some medications that work very well to treat the p which will cause some further hair loss. When they are stopped and the scalp is healed, the hair should return.
It is very nice to see a new poster on this board with both an excellent vocabuary and good spelling!!;)

Wow. You sound so very much like me, that it's scary. I have it in two places on the scalp, and my hair is only slightly thinning there though. Fortunately, the bigger patch of the two is more like above my neck, so it is not visible. I was diagnosed when I was four, and I had a great big spot behind my ear. It was very gross, and I'm glad it went to my scalp now. Can't help you with your questions, all I do is deal with it. Can't help you have it, so just pretend it does not exist.

Hey whats up. I have the same problem you do. But your lucky it is only on your scalp.. I unfourtunetly have it all over. Not bad, but it is still visable. I have been using this medication on my scalp for about 3 months now. And OMG it helps so much! it is called Dermarest. Psoriasis medicated Moisturizer. And I bought it at walmart. And I didnt know if that info would help or not. I just put it in my scalp and go to bed with a shower cap on(so not to get my pillow cases oily). And it stops the itch all day.
