strup spots
hey everyone,
I'm a 13 year old girl from Cali and I've have psoriasis for about 8 or 9 years. Has any one got the strup throat infection and it made your psoriasis go crazy? That's what just happend to me I have spots all over. The spots r especially on my back and stomach. I don't think that there is one place on my body where the spots aren't. Because of the spots, which i got under control on my face, i now have pigment loss on my forhead. Does anyone else have this problem? Reply if you do or if you want to chat.

Welcome to the board Emily,
The "bleached" skin on your forehead is common when using topical medications. It goes away quickly (at least mine does) when treatment is stopped. Perhaps a weaker cream would lessen that effect. I hope you are on antibiotics for the strep infection. Many people who have that reaction will not clear of psoriasis until the infection is completely cleared from the body and that can be 7 days, 10 days, a couple of weeks, or months for some people. There is a great lady who post here named PJ Leary, who I believe has gone through the strep disaster and can advise you if she reads this. If you a lot of small spots all over a good treatment is PUVA or UVB or frequent sun bathing, but be careful not to burn it can make things worse, or even regular tanning beds if nothing else is available. With the ultraviolet therapy keeping from burning is real important. good luck to you and don't ne a stranger here!!
