Hi Sally,
Growing up in coastal NE, and being the descendant of many fishermen, we all had to take cod liver oil in the winter. My grandmother used to mix it with oj when we complained about the taste, saying that way there was no bad taste at all! Yeah, right! Another favorite trick of hers was to promise a teaspoon of sugar once the medicine was down. We liked that better, we were limited on sweets as most children are.
As an adult living in cold climates, I regularly took it in the winter, I found it seemed to boost my immune system. But, just a tablespoon a day was all I used. I never found that the capsules were nearly as effective, so always used to oil, kept it in the frig.
I also had some good results from Evening Primrose Oil, taken in megadoses for a month or two. But then the results would wear off when my body had gotten accustomed to it ( like so many things! )

Hey PJ! maybe what your gramma did for you in childhood kept you from getting P til High school?...I take fish oil in summer (and will take orange flavored cod liver ugg oil next winter) I am also a BIG believer in Primrose oil and its good for women/periods and women/menopause I take so much stuff that I had to make an outline for daily in takes...also big on lecithin and as I said earlier fresh ground flax...hey!! I'm drying up by oiling up...Miracle products working good, I'm also doing, what someone reported on here, and that is about every 3-4 days I put body lotion on my scalp and hair...wow does that ever work for tightening of scalp and keeping the flaking down...scalp is still pink but no itching or flaking. I just put it on and leave it over night. so pretty!!! :p

Hi Sally,
You know, different things work for each of us. I am glad that you have found a combination of things that work for you.:)
I would still suggest you run the gamut of otc stuff past a good Dr, though. Some folks think that because they don't need a script for something it cannot harm them, and they are very wrong. Mixing otc meds is even more of a reason to seek professional advice.
That said, please do keep us posted on your progress!:p

WHAT OTC's? the only thing I ever use are Zinc oxide salve! guess that's an OTC. I Never use any OTC"s the only prescription I use is Armour Thyroid...
never had any antibiotics, Pennicillin or other drugs over the counter or over the pharmacy counter! I would rather keep "the body" healthy through natural means....and luckily my doctor agrees!
I know people might find it strange that I have gone a lifetime without the use of meds...but honestly what could be better than vit. "C" for a cold? I'm a great fan of Adell Davis and have been for many years! when I say I have to co-ordinate my daily intake of stuff I take...that means scheduling my "all natural" vitamins (that really comes from food, not chemicals) the special teas from Dr. Paganos book. Plus 8-10 glasses of water to keep the body hydrated. Also taking Flax and Lecithin which gives me much of the oils our bodies require in addition to other healthy benefits for the cardiac system....and I also take FISH OIL AND EVENING PRIMROSE OIL supplements....I really like the MIRACLE SOAPS, I use them for cleaning and shampoos....everything seems to be helping as the lesions are flat and no scales on more than half of them....slowly they are improving and I think not eating the "nightshades" is also helping which is hard to do...pizza, spaghetti etc. according to Pagano we give up the most likely offenders....then slowly try them (after becoming clear) one at a time to see if we get a reaction.....its hard to do...but worth it if it helps.....Sally

Hi Sally,
Forgive me, otc refers to "over the counter" medications. That is, medications that do not require a prescription. Like all of the natural stuff you are using.
I am happy to hear that you are still seeing good results!:) Do keep us posted.
