Pagano VS Dr. Heng
I have a question (mostly directed at Sally). What is so great about Dr. Heng's methods (of using antibiotics) when you can clear yourself more naturally on the Pagano diet? There's no chance of risking a "rebound" effect when eating too many alkaline foods (as opposed to taking too much of antibiotics). Do you think Pagano would approve of using antibiotics? And lastly, concerning her cream: She mentions that once the lesions are healed you will no longer need it, but isn't it a fact you used up your supply and need more? (I got all this info from other threads such as the "family & friends"). Dr. Heng has not written back to me yet. I'm still undecided about all this.
As far as my diet is going, I do finally see a little clearing. I am 7 weeks into the Pagano diet (sans the teas). Thanks for anyone's input.

here I am!!! :D

I used Dr Pagano's eating plan and got clear back in 12/04 here is the thread!
I was clear and doing good altho did cheat a bit with certain sweets  for a couple years....at this time I did not get my scalp P clear as you will see if you read the thread......but I was happy! :)
then I got into some poison ivy and developed guttate!!!
here is a site that I explain what happened!!!
There's no chance of risking a "rebound" effect when eating too many alkaline foods (as opposed to taking too much of antibiotics). Do you think Pagano would approve of using antibiotics?
I am still on Pagano's eating plan minus my idiosyncrasies...(trigger foods from blood allergy test!)....... I'm also eating anti-inflammatory foods which are the same as Pagano really.
I did not take the antibiotics....as I have mentioned in other posts....I filled the prescription, but started to clear....so skipped the Keflex....I will look in my book to see what Pagano has to say about anti-biotics.....but regardless what he says.....if I thought it would heal the P I would have taken the pills! I'm not nuts! :D in fact my doctor told me to take the Probiotics every night (to replace the friendly bacteria while I'm sleeping)....I did take the probiotics.
And we all need 80/20% alkaline/acid foods
And lastly, concerning her cream: She mentions that once the lesions are healed you will no longer need it, but isn't it a fact you used up your supply and need more? (I got all this info from other threads such as the "family & friends").
I used her gel til it was gone and the guttate on my arms were gone....it is a very potent, tiny jar......but it worked....it just wasn't enough to cover all the guttate that was everywhere else....that was when I found Psorolin from http://www.garrysun.com/jawahar.html
he now sells Psorayur a more potent form of Psorolin......
however,
before I got to write to Dr. Heng the guttate was spreading everywhere....!!! I did not know what to do or how to stop it....I knew this was going to take a Superwoman to get this stopped! that was when I found Dr. Heng....Superwoman!
I learned more from her in our correspondance than anywhere else....
Dr. Heng has not written back to me yet. I'm still undecided about all this.

I hope you told her you are a new mom and still breastfeeding?....I wouldn't take any antibiotics while breastfeeding....I do know she tells most people to go off dairy...so it will be interesting to see what she says to you.....I had no choice....trigger food...but I never drank milk anyway and recently had a bone density test which put me at no risk (very good) my doc said only 10% of women she tests are normal......
Thanks for anyone's input.
you're welcome :D
if you have anymore questions....just ask!

Pagano's take on anti-biotics
" Mind you, there are several causes listed as culprits in breaking down the intestinal walls, i.e. parasites, viruses, hyperacidity, excessive use of antibiotics, etc. "
I'm not sure what he means by excessive, seems to me that taking antibiotics for any period of time would lead to what Pagano refers to as leaky gut...also when taking slippery elm, you are suppose to take it AWAY from any medications as it coats your intestinal track thereby blocking the effects of anything you ingest...I would think this would include nutrients that you need from foods but who knows?
None of the posters here are physicians...actully pagano isn't either, he's a chiro not an MD.

From what I understand from Dr. Pagano's speech a few years back at a National Conference....if your not doing the following to the letter then you are NOT following the pagano regimen correctly...
" Is it safe to say, then, that the other "ingredients" in your regimen — teas, spinal adjustments, colon cleanings, topical applications, meditation and right thinking — are processes intended to SPEED healing? "
Pagano: Absolutely!
Best wishes to you in clearing.

Linda,
Have you been tested for underlying infection? Sometimes guttate will appear during an infection, this is especially true of children but can happen in adults as well from my understanding.
Karen
Turns out I was wrong. Dr. Heng wrote back to me again and said I don't have true guttate. She said I have a different variety that "looks" like guttate. Anyway I wrote to her again and will see what she recommends.
BTW, how do you change your font colors? I hope everyone can read my responses okay.
Answers:
TO CHANGE COLOR...
drag your mouse over the part you want to color...it will become highlighted
(do this with left side of mouse) while it is still high lighted go up to color and click on one....that will do it
You do the same thing for fonts

I don't see any symbol that says "color." I only see a bunch of happy faced icons at the bottom of this letter. Thanks anyway,

do you have "GUIDED MODE" AND "ENHANCED MODE" WHEN YOU CLICK ON "POST REPLY"
it would be right above the window you write in...if so click on "ENHANCED MODE" THEN CLOSE AND THEN GO BACK TO SEE IF IT GOT ACTIVATED...

I, personally, don't go to M.D.s...my D.O. is just as educated as M.D.s but with a better knowledge of healing.....they do not rely on meds alone as so many of today's doctors do! I grew up with doctors that treated the patient...then the disease!
Today you have to go to umteen specialists to get diagnosed! If that is what you feel comfortable with then go for it....
chiropracters and natropaths are also alternative doctors and would be my choice after a D.O.!
but, then that is just my opinion! :D
Luckily, my doctors treat the entire me. whew!
Wondering what Dr. Heng is? I thought I read here she was a derm or an MD? Would that be considered a specialist?
I'm confused.
Thanks,
Karen

No, I don't have a guided or enhanced mode. Maybe cause I'm not a paying member. Oh well...good old black will have to work! :)

My Gp spends a lot of time on the phone with the equally focused and caring specialists he sends me and others too. They talk and listen to each other. He coordinates with them and ovesees my overall health. Great Dr., Reads novels, runs, asks me tons of questions, spends time explaining his findings and ideas regarding my health. Talked to my derm too! Incredible!
Of course he and the specialists don't take insurance.

I've witnessed about 20 physicians over the last 40 years prescribe a host of mostly needed drugs to my family and close friends..unfortunately some of those scripts included vioxx, rezulin, fen phen and now avandia.
I have never seen any one of them suggest vitamin D or any other CAM (complementary and alternative medicine) as a healthy option.
I believe, with accurate information on the internet, patient advocacy and improved physician awareness, (as evidenced by some of the links to cardiologists, Dr Heng etc.)... the benefits of supplements and CAM will be acknowledged to a greater degree.

I don't think you have to be a paying member to use the guided or enhanced mode. I had the features before I was a paying member. If you click on "reply" or "quote" and not the quick reply symbol (looks like a paper with pen, alone) you should be able to see "font" "color" "B" for bold, etc. where you type your message.
