i live in raleigh, North Carolina, and i've had psoriasis since i was five.
i've decided to post pictures of my psoriasis because i think it will help others who are insecure with their psoriasis.
i have had to take piercings out for psoriasis (notice belly button ring scar)
mine is acually getting alot better, on June 28th im going to start a series of injections (stereoids for psoriasis)
i have it EVERYWHERE. even on my,and around my ears (pictured).
also, i have my ears gauged to a 2, and for anyone else who has psoriasis and gauged ears, they know this means ITCHY! (or just regular pierced ears for that matter)
The two creams i use (plus with laying out in the sun) that keeps it pretty itch-free are:
-Betamethasone (comes in a white and yellow tube)
and
-Triamcinolone Acetonide (comes in a light blue and white tube)
i hope this has helped atleast one person out there.
i know how hard, and painful psoriasis is.

It looks like guttate P that you have. Have you asked your doctor about UVB or MTX treatments?

Hey I am Dee I want to first welcome you. I think it is great that you posted your pictures, I hope that you can soon clear up!
You mentioned that you live in Raleigh, NC. So do I! We have a support group here in Raleigh that I'm sure you would just love. There are a few younger members, but they usually don't show up to the meetings. Feel free to pm me anytime, maybe you can make the next meeting. I think it is a social event for the summer :)

I too have had P. since age 5. Your pics are great! Thanks for being brave enough to share them here with us. Your P. appears to look a great deal like mine. I have very few spots that join together to form larger areas except for my elbows and knees, but I have a scattering of smaller spots everywhere! I'm still using Skin Cap, although I'm not convinced it's the real Skin Cap, and lay out several times a week. Mines clearing, but it's a SLOW process. I just want to get clear enough to enjoy wearing shorts this summer. We're taking our daughter to Carowinds in NC next month, and I'd love to be clear enough to wear shorts then. I;m keeping my fingers crossed!I too use Betamethsone but since I'm running low, I've been saving that for stuborn areas. Good luck to you! :)

my legs are most definetly giving me trouble with little spots, kind of like in the pictures except farther apart. do you guys think i should just tan them a little and see if that helps?

Try embrel..its shots..i take them twice a week. I had it worse then you on my legs,arms, stomach and back. Now its completely gone from my legs arms and back but i still have a little on my stomach. It really has helped alot. You should really consider taking embrel!!

eek! sorry i havent been replying ive been SSOOO busy lately.
i had someone recently go "ew what is on your neck?"
i just kinda shrugged it off.
i was recently at warped tour (in raleigh) and i was in the sun ALL day. and it acually cleared all of my p off of my face!
heres a few pictures i have of me from recently.
my arms and face are pretty much all cleared!
Theres a recent one of me, and my boyfriend billy.
so as you can see im getting there!
i went to the derm. Wed and she said that the sun seems to be helping, and insurance may pay for my own tanning bed!

That is soo awesome :) I'm so glad that you are clearing. Sun is a great thing eh? I love your pics, very nice. :-D SooOo of subject..how was the warped tour i heard it was really good. Great hearing from you, ttyl.

i am from north carolina also except i am in gastonia which is right beside charlotte and i have psoriasis on my eyelid forhead scalp and ears also i am in the same grade as you and mango juice helps psoriasis and it is really good.

5 Attachment(s) I finally got a round to getting some pics of my psoriasis, any one else as daring as laura and I post pics of your psoriasis too. I can't speak for Laura, but I felt more confident after posting my pics.

I am so glad I found this web site. I was just told by my derm that I had guttate psoriasis. After three months of wondering and being embarassed of my "rash", I finally know what it is. And now I can see other people are going through the same thing I am one way or another. I am on a topical foam Olux and getting phototherapy 3 times a week for the next 16 weeks. Hopefully one day soon I can shave my legs again! Has anybody had any success stories with the phototherapy? Anything I should know?

If you don't know me, I'm 17 from Ohio. I have guttate-plaquish psoriasis. It's a weird combo - I get both, in kind of intermediate stages. Like I'll have straight guttate spots with some really plaque-y spots and some kind of plaqu-y spots, kinda guttate spots. I'm just a mess. :cool: Oh, and I've had P for 2 and a half-ish years now.
I'm currently on my 4th topical treatment - Dovonex and a Clobetasol/coal tar ointment. It hasn't been too bad. The cool thing? I did my 2 weeks of "use on in the morning, one in the evening" and I'm on the maintenance part - "use Dovonex 2x a day during the week, the coal tar junk 2x a day Saturday and Sunday" and I'm STILL mostly clear. (The last times, with Taclonex, triamcinolone, and a straight dovonex/clobetasol combo, I never could maintain the clearing.) It's still not perfect {my arms look much better, my legs and feet are stubborn AS ALWAYS} but definitely improved. I keep thinking that if it gets just a LITTLE bit better, I'm gonna wear a skirt! {Haven't done that in a while}.
ANYWAY - Pictures of my right leg, and one of the big guy on my foot. My arms are almost completely clear so no need for pictures of them! :-) Oh, and I have 2 small spots on my face =( UGH, some spots on my scalp (right near the forehead, and on the nape of my neck) AND some in my ears (which I do believe sucks the most) and behind my ears. Anyway, there's my story.
